Good news for Airbus fans… the aircraft manufacturer has just issued a progress report for its forthcoming A320neo.

According to a press announcement, the A320neo’s Pratt & Whitney PurePower PW1100G-JM engine is now in flight testing… hurray!

This powerplant successfully completed its maiden flight on a test bed aircraft from Pratt & Whitney’s facilities in Quebec, Canada after more than 375 hours of ground performance and operability evaluations.

Certification of the PW1100G-JM is planned for the third quarter of 2014.
